Haystack

Overall Score: 11/16

Pro’s

  • Web-based sharing available.
  • QR code sharing available.
  • Email signature sharing available.
  • App sharing available.
  • Subscription base upgrade available
  • Platform for businesses and enterprises.
  • Single Sign on Available
  • Active Directory Integration
  • CRM Integrations
  • SOC 2 certificate
  • Unlimited contact storage

Con’s

  • No custom NFC business cards available.
  • No landing page customization.
  • No Google or Apple Wallet sharing.
  • No virtual background sharing available.
  • No basic analytics.

The app is user-friendly and provides basic contact details and social media handles, the absence of a web version causes a delay in creating a digital business card. However, during our testing of Haystack, we have identified a few drawbacks that may prevent it from being the ideal solution for all businesses. One must download the app to edit and share their card, which can be inconvenient for some users. Additionally, sharing options are limited to email, text, and a QR code.

Another significant downside is that card analytics are only available with their business plan. In contrast, other companies offer in-depth card analytics at a much more affordable price. While Haystack is SOC 2 certified for security, we found no additional information about their other security measures. Moreover, there are no bulk creation capabilities for teams, which may not be suitable for businesses that need to create many cards at once.

Blinq

Overall Score: 13/16

Pro’s

  • Custom NFC business cards available.
  • Web-based sharing available.
  • Google or Apple Wallet sharing.
  • QR code sharing available.
  • App sharing available.
  • Email signature sharing available.
  • Subscription base upgrade available
  • Platform for businesses and enterprises.
  • Single Sign on Available
  • Active directory integration
  • CRM integrations
  • SOC 2 certificate
  • Unlimited contact storage

Con’s

  • No virtual background sharing available.
  • No basic analytics.
  • No landing page customization - only colors.

Creating a digital business card with Blinq is a simple process. Upon signing up, you can easily fill in all your contact details, including your social media handles, Calendly, payment URLs, and more.

However, it's important to note that the layout of your card cannot be customized beyond changing the color. When it comes to sharing your card, you have the option to share it as a URL and QR code. It's important to note that you need to download the QR code as an image, which can be inconvenient.

Although Blinq's website mentions that basic analytics are available for your digital business cards, we need help finding the analytics section within their dashboard or mobile app. Lastly, no integrations or APIs are available for automating the creation of team digital business cards.

While Blinq may be an easy solution for creating basic digital business cards, its lack of customization and advanced features may only suit some businesses.

Knowee

Overall Score: 5/16

Pro’s

  • Web-based sharing available.
  • QR code sharing available.
  • Platform for businesses and enterprises.
  • GDPR Compliant
  • Unlimited contact storage

Con’s

  • No NFC business cards available.
  • Basic landing page customization.
  • No Google or Apple Wallet sharing.
  • No App sharing available.
  • No virtual background sharing available.
  • No email signature sharing available.
  • No basic analytics.
  • No Individual subscription base upgrade is available
  • No SSO
  • No Active Directory
  • No CRM Integrations

Signing up for Knowee is a breeze as you can easily enter your information in the data fields provided and get started within minutes. However, the solution lacks in terms of sharing options and analytics. The analytics provided are limited and can only track the number of times your card has been viewed. Additionally, multimedia content can only be added with the enterprise plan.

One of the major drawbacks we found is the limited sharing options. Since the business card is a URL, it can only be shared via email or text, similar to Blinq. Even if you use a QR code to share your card, you must first save it as an image, which can be inconvenient and challenging to share on the go.

Knowee does offer useful security features and multiple card design options to customize your digital business card. However, the solution needs more bulk creation capabilities and easy access, making it easier to automate the creation of digital business cards. Knowee may not be the best fit for those seeking a comprehensive digital business card solution.

HiHello

Overall Score: 13/16

Pro’s

  • Web-based sharing available.
  • Google or Apple Wallet sharing.
  • QR code sharing available.
  • App sharing available.
  • Virtual background sharing available.
  • Email signature sharing available.
  • Subscription base upgrade available
  • Platform for businesses and enterprises.
  • Single Sign on Available
  • Active directory integration
  • CRM integrations
  • SOC 2 certificate
  • Unlimited contact storage

Con’s

  • No NFC business cards are available.
  • No landing page customization - only colors.
  • No basic analytics.

Their dashboard is very user-friendly. It allows you to create stunning digital business cards that include all your contact details, social media, payment apps, and PDFs linked to it. Various sharing options are available, including social media, email, QR code, and text. You can even use a HiHello number instead of your phone number to share your card via text.

However, there are a few limitations to remember while using HiHello. The analytics provided by the platform are quite basic, and you only get the total number of card views, saves, and new contacts made, which is only available on their higher plans. The lack of bulk card creation and API access could be a deal-breaker for some businesses.

Furthermore, there have been concerns regarding downtime and accessibility issues with digital business cards created on the platform. Several customer reviews have highlighted these problems. On the positive side, HiHello is SOC 2 type two compliant and offers SSO login. However, it doesn't have many integration capabilities apart from Zapier.

DOT

Overall Score: 3/16

Pro’s

  • Custom NFC cards are available.
  • Web-based sharing available.
  • Unlimited contact storage

Con’s

  • Basic landing page customization.
  • No Google or Apple Wallet sharing.
  • No QR code sharing.
  • No App available.
  • No Basic analytics.
  • No platform for businesses and enterprises.
  • No SSO
  • No Active Directory
  • No CRM Integrations
  • No upgrade or subscription base.
  • No information on data security.

The website's landing page is clean, simple, and effective, boasting a profile photo and banner that prominently features your name, company, and job title.

The additional banner space sets this card apart, which offers a personal touch and catches the eye. The links section is also a highlight, allowing you to reorder links according to your preference. While the customization options are limited, you can still choose the page's color and accent of the links to create a unique look.

Sharing information is a breeze with this card, as you can scan or tap the business card or use the provided digital QR code, eliminating the need for physical cards entirely.  This NFC card is a great option for those looking for something simple and functional, with a price range of $20 to $40 if you want a custom card instead of the DOT branding. Moreover, there are no membership fees, so you only pay the one-time price.

Dot is a platform that lacks essential features that most businesses require for their day-to-day operations. For instance, Dot does not offer any security documentation, business dashboard, or third-party integrations. This lack of features can make it challenging for businesses that rely on such tools to manage their daily activities.

OVOU

Overall Score: 8/16

Pro’s

  • Web-based sharing available.
  • QR code sharing available.
  • Virtual background sharing available.
  • Basic analytics.
  • Subscription base upgrade available.
  • Platform for businesses and enterprises.
  • Email signature sharing available.
  • Unlimited contact storage

Con’s

  • Expensive NFC business cards
  • No landing page customization.
  • No Google or Apple Wallet sharing.
  • No App sharing available.
  • No Single Sign On
  • No Active Directory
  • No CRM Integrations Yes
  • No data security measures or SOC 2 certificates.

These NFC cards cost $80, and the custom card costs $150. It's fair to say that it's a lot more expensive than other cards on the market. Cards can experience wear and tear over time, so it's something to remember.

The landing page includes a custom profle card at the top, which you can change to a collection of colors matching your desired design. You can also upload a photo and save contact to automatically add a contact card to your phone. You get an exchange button, and an about section with a limit of 250 characters.

You have the option for a custom video, which you can embed as long as it's on Vimeo or YouTube. You can add a description as well that flows below it. Then, you have your contact info at the bottom, such as phone, email, website, and location.

From a user interface standpoint, OVOU has a basic design that does not allow for customization, and its content options are not unique compared to other digital business card options.

It needs more documentation on important aspects such as data security, active directory integrations, CRM integrations, and Single sign-on, which are essential for any business client.

TAPPY

Overall Score: 3/16

Pro’s

  • Custom NFC cards are available.
  • Web-based sharing available.
  • Unlimited contact storage

Con’s

  • No landing page customization.
  • No Google or Apple Wallet sharing.
  • No QR code sharing.
  • No App available.
  • No Basic analytics.
  • No platform for businesses and enterprises.
  • No SSO
  • No Active Directory
  • No CRM Integrations
  • No upgrade or subscription base.
  • No information on data security.

When you tap the card, you'll be directed to your page, which includes your name, profile photo, and a prominent "add to contacts" button to quickly share your contact details. You'll also find your bio and links to all of your social media accounts.

However, customization options are limited, as you cannot change the accent, add more sections, or create separate profiles for work and personal use. Despite its limitations, the card serves its purpose and does an excellent job of making a statement.

One notable feature is the ability to protect the "add to contacts" button with a pin. This is particularly useful for networking when you don't want everyone to have access to your phone number. You can choose who gets your contact information by setting a pin that only those who know it can access.

Overall, the Tappy card is a high-quality product that stands out. However, its basic landing page, mid-range price, lack of a subscription model, and limited customization options make it fall short of perfection. I give it a rating of two out of five briefcase emojis.

POPL

Overall Score: 15/16

Pro’s

  • Custom NFC business cards available.
  • Landing page customization
  • Web-based sharing available.
  • Google or Apple Wallet sharing.
  • QR code sharing available.
  • App sharing available.
  • Virtual background sharing available.
  • Email signature sharing available.
  • Basic Analytics
  • Subscription base upgrade available
  • Platform for businesses and enterprises.
  • Single Sign on Available
  • Active directory integration
  • CRM integrations
  • SOC 2 certificate

Con’s

  • Does not have unlimited contact storage – needs subscription upgrade.

The landing page design is impressive. It features a photo, a banner location, a bio format, and a connect button leading to a lead form. Additionally, the add to contacts option is standard for business cards nowadays.

One of the cool customizations is the ability to feature social icons, which allows you to add a title and a description for more information upon opening the app and customizing your card. However, some of the more advanced features, such as embedding a video, come at a cost of a pro membership, which costs $48 a year or $5 a month.

The card runs from an app on your phone, including a connections tab to keep track of everyone you've connected with. It also includes a digital QR code and a powerful insights tab. The infrastructure of this app is highly smooth and operates on another level compared to other apps. Although the free card is great, a membership would be needed to make your page unique.

It's important to note that one of their major limitations for Popl is the restricted amount of contact storage they offer. This means that you may frequently have to the old contacts to make room for new ones, which can be a hassle and may defeat the purpose of having a digital business card in the first place.

BLUE SOCIAL

Overall Score: 3/16

Pro’s

  • Custom NFC cards are available.
  • Web-based sharing available.
  • Unlimited contact sharing

Con’s

  • No Google or Apple Wallet sharing.
  • No QR code sharing.
  • No App available.
  • No email signature.
  • No virtual background.
  • No Basic analytics.
  • Basic landing page customization.
  • No platform for businesses and enterprises.
  • No SSO
  • No Active Directory
  • No CRM Integrations
  • No upgrade or subscription base.
  • No information on data security.

When you tap on the Blue Card, you are directed to a predominantly blue page. On this page, you will find your name, company title, and profile picture, along with an "add to contact" button, a bio section with no character limit, and links to all your social media accounts, phone number, email, website, and other contact methods. It is a basic landing page with a vibrant blue color that cannot be changed. However, Blue Card is more than just a simple landing page.

Blue allows you to add various links categorized into social media, music, payments, and other networks. Secondly, it offers a private mode that restricts access to your card only to nearby people, preventing anyone from accessing it through a link or URL.

This feature is unique to Blue Card and could be practical for networking purposes. Thirdly, a discover mode detects your location and connects you with people nearby as you walk around. Though impractical, if more people start using this card, it could be a great way to meet people at networking events.

V1CE

Overall Score: 3/16

Pro’s

  • Web-based sharing available.
  • QR code sharing available.
  • Unlimited contact sharing

Con’s

  • Expensive NFC business cards available.
  • No landing page customization.
  • No Google or Apple Wallet sharing.
  • No app sharing available.
  • No virtual background sharing available.
  • No email signature sharing available.
  • No details on any analytics
  • No subscription base upgrade available
  • No platform for businesses and enterprises.
  • No SSO
  • No Active Directory
  • No CRM Integrations
  • No data security measures or SOC 2 certificates.

The landing page is very minimal, without any visible branding. With the free option, you get the header that includes an "About Me" contact card, which you can save to your contacts, connect on social links, and access my media kit. Additionally, there are photo links that give you more emphasis. You can reorder all of these elements as you like.

What I really like is that you can choose from various actions when tapping on the card. If you don't want to show a full profile, you can make the card immediately open a contact card or URL, an event, or send an email. You can set all these things up in advance and just have a list of them, and then with just a tap, it completely changes the function of the card, which I thought was really cool.

By default, with the free option, you have an "About Me" contact card button with photo links, social links, and a spacer if you want to add some space between sections. Then there are some pro options, which are obviously more advanced, like an accordion video embed, photo gallery, and lead forms.

While the free version is enough to get by, I could see many people wanting to pay for that premium experience because there's just a lot more flexible information that you can put on there. In my experience testing, this one is more complicated to set up than other options. There are a lot of different places to tap, and a lot of things to do. It's not as seamless as other cards and this is one of the more expensive cards on the market.

LINQ

Overall Score: 15/16

Pro’s

  • Custom NFC business cards available.
  • Web-based sharing available.
  • Google or Apple Wallet sharing.
  • QR code sharing available.
  • App sharing available.
  • Virtual background sharing available.
  • Email signature sharing available.
  • Analytics Available
  • Subscription base upgrade available
  • Platform for businesses and enterprises.
  • Single Sign on Available
  • Active directory integration
  • CRM integrations
  • SOC 2 certificate
  • Unlimited contact sharing

Con’s

  • Complicated landing page - customization can get overwhelming with too many features.

The free version provides an 'about me' section, a photo gallery with links that open as a slideshow that you can swipe through. These custom-colored links show at the bottom with an optional square thumbnail in the corner, expandable text boxes, and social icons.

On the other hand, the pro version offers more advanced features such as video embedding, file uploads, site redirections, lead forms for lead generation, and embed services like Calendly or Spotify. The pro version costs $50 per year or $5 per month, which is a reasonable price compared to most other similar services. However, the free version is usually enough for most people.

The photo gallery and links that you can add are more than sufficient for most people. Additionally, you can create another link page for free with an entirely different set of links and set it as the primary one with just a tap. This feature is helpful if you want to promote a certain business or if you want separate pages for personal and business use. The app also allows you to reorder the information and replace the page for different functionality.
