When you create or import users, Wave Connect does not email them. The onboarding email is how you tell them their card is ready and how to log in. Sending it moves users from the Created status to Invite Sent. They become Active once they log in and finish setting up the app.

Sending the email

You can open the sender from three places:
  • Users: open the menu next to Create User and click Send onboarding email.
  • Get Started checklist: click the Send onboarding email step.
  • The Import users completed screen, right after a bulk import.
1

Pick the recipients

The list shows users with the Created status. Use Search Users to find people and check the ones to email. Users imported in the current session are preselected.
2

Set the language

The Language column defaults to each user’s language. Change it per user if needed. The email is sent in that language.
3

Send

Click Send Email (the button shows the number of selected users). Wave Connect sends the emails and updates the users’ status to Invite Sent.
The Preview panel shows both emails. Toggle Day 1 and Day 7 and pick a preview language to see exactly what users receive.

What users receive

Wave Connect sends two emails: After the first email, the user downloads the app, logs in with the email you set as their login, and personalizes their profile. Their status becomes Active.

Sending from your own email app

If you prefer to send the message from your company mailbox, click Or send from my email app below the Send Email button. Wave Connect shows the selected users’ Emails, a Subject, and a ready-to-use Body with copy buttons. Paste them into your email client and send. Click Mark email as sent to close the flow and complete the Send onboarding email step of the Get Started checklist.
Only emails sent from Wave Connect update the users’ status to Invite Sent and schedule the Day 7 email.

Onboarding email vs. invitation

The onboarding email is for accounts you created or imported. The account already exists, so the user only needs to log in. An invitation (Invite User) is for someone who already has a personal Wave Connect account. They receive a link to a Join page and must accept before they appear as a member. See User Management.
