Available on the Enterprise plan. Only the organization Owner can manage domains.
Wave Connect supports two kinds of domains, both managed from Settings → Security: You can set up either one independently — a profile domain does not need a verified domain, and vice versa.

Profile domains

With a profile domain, your team’s public profiles are served from your company’s domain instead of the default app.wavecnct.com. For example, business-card.acme.com/jdoe instead of app.wavecnct.com/jdoe.
  • Brand consistency: Profile links, QR codes, and email signatures carry your domain
  • Trust: Recipients see a familiar domain when they receive your card
  • Per-team domains: Different teams can use different domains (e.g., one per brand or region)

Setup

1

Go to Settings → Security → Custom profile domains

Click Add a domain.
2

Enter your domain name

Use a subdomain you don’t already use for something else, such as business-card.acme.com or card.acme.com.If your organization has more than one team, you can optionally pick the Teams that should use this domain. Leave it empty to apply the domain to the entire organization.Click Create.
3

Add the DNS records

The Domain Status panel lists the records to add to your domain’s DNS. Copy them exactly as shown:The TXT record goes on the root of your domain (@), not on the subdomain.
4

Validate

Click Validate. Once DNS has propagated, the status turns to Verified and an SSL certificate is issued automatically. You can close the panel and come back later — Wave Connect keeps checking in the background, and you can reopen the panel from the domain’s menu (Setup) at any time.
DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate, though most take effect within a few hours.

Status

Hover the status to see which of the three checks — resolving, DNS, and SSL — are complete.

Assigning domains to teams

You can add several profile domains to one organization:
  • A domain with no team assigned is the organization-wide default.
  • A domain assigned to one or more teams overrides the default for members of those teams.
  • Each team can be assigned to only one domain.
Change a domain’s teams directly from the Team column in the domain list. Members’ profile links update automatically when a domain is assigned, reassigned, verified, or deleted.

After setup

Once a profile domain is verified:
  • Profile links, QR codes, virtual backgrounds, and email signatures generated in the app use the new domain
  • Existing app.wavecnct.com/<username> links continue to work
  • NFC cards and printed QR codes already in circulation keep working — no reprogramming needed
To remove a domain, open its menu and choose Delete. Members fall back to the organization-wide domain, or to app.wavecnct.com if there is none.
Root domains (acme.com without a subdomain) are not accepted by default. If you need to host profiles on a root domain, contact your account manager — it requires an A record instead of a CNAME.

Verified domains

Verifying an email domain proves to Wave Connect that your organization owns it. It does not change any URLs — it unlocks features that rely on knowing which people belong to your company.

Setup

1

Go to Settings → Security → Verified domains

Click Add a domain.
2

Enter your email domain

Enter the domain your team’s email addresses use, such as acme.com. Subdomains are reduced to the root domain automatically (mail.acme.com becomes acme.com).Click Create.
3

Add the TXT record

Add the record shown in the Verify your domain panel to your domain’s DNS:
4

Verify

Click Verify. The status changes from Pending to Verified once the record is found. If it isn’t detected yet, wait for DNS to propagate and click Verify again from the domain’s menu.
A domain can only be verified by one organization. If your domain is already claimed, contact support@wavecnct.com.

What verified domains unlock

Auto-join

Turn on Enable auto-join in the Verified domains panel. Anyone who signs up for Wave Connect with an email address on one of your verified domains automatically joins your organization instead of creating a personal account. Auto-join requires an available seat.

Migrating personal accounts

People who created a personal Wave Connect account with a company email before your organization existed are listed under Settings → Administrators → Individual Users. Click Migrate next to a user to move their account — including their profile and contacts — into your organization.

Directory sync

When SCIM provisions a user who already has a personal Wave Connect account on a verified domain, that account is migrated into your organization instead of creating a duplicate.

Removing a verified domain

Open the domain’s menu and choose Delete. Users on that domain will no longer auto-join or appear in the Individual Users list. Accounts already migrated into your organization are not affected.
