U.S. Insurance Conferences & Trade Shows (2026-2027)

The short version: there are 54 major insurance conferences scheduled in the United States between now and the end of 2027. For property and casualty specifically, the big ones are the NAMIC Annual Convention (Denver, September 2026), the WSIA Annual Marketplace (San Diego, October 2026) and In2Risk, the conference formerly called the CPCU Society Annual Meeting (Las Vegas, October 2026). The largest insurance technology event is ITC Vegas (September 2026), the largest risk management event is RIMS RISKWORLD (New Orleans, April 2027), and the largest claims event is the CLM Annual Conference (San Diego, March 2027). Every date was read off the organizer's own site on September 23, 2026.

Insurance conferences divide more sharply than almost any other industry. A mutual carrier CEO, a wholesale broker placing excess and surplus lines, a claims manager, a benefits advisor and a captive owner are served by completely different events, and turning up at the wrong one is an expensive mistake.

Carriers, mutuals, wholesalers and program administrators. This is the largest category here and the one most people mean by an insurance conference, and it splits again between the association meetings and the transactional markets where the whole point is the meeting schedule.

VCIA Annual Conference

How to choose which one to attend

Insurance conferences fall into two kinds that look identical from the outside and work nothing alike. One is an education and trade show event you attend. The other is a meeting market where the sessions are decoration and the value is a calendar you booked in advance.

A note on cost. The spread here runs from about $250 to well over $2,000 before travel. HealthAPalooza is $249 for two days and the Combined Claims Conference is a regional two-day event at a fraction of a national ticket, while IFEBP is $1,925 for members, the PLUS Conference is $1,725 and the CLM member rate is $1,649. Association membership is the biggest single lever: on CLM, IFEBP, NAMIC and Big "I" events the member rate is hundreds of dollars below the public one, and on several of them a year's dues cost less than the difference on one ticket.

The other question worth asking before you book is whether the event has an exhibit hall at all. The Big "I" Legislative Conference, the NAIFA Congressional Conference and the ALTA Advocacy Summit are advocacy days in Washington with congressional meetings and no trade floor, and the NAIC National Meeting is a regulator's committee week. All four are worth attending for the right reason, and none of them is a place to sell.

If you are exhibiting rather than attending

Insurance is one of the most crowded vendor markets on any of our calendars. ITC Vegas puts you in front of the entire carrier technology buying population and alongside every competitor you have. PLRB's services expo is where claims departments meet restoration, forensics and medical management vendors, and the CLM floor is the same for litigation support. At the other extreme, the CIAB forums and the WSIA Marketplace are meeting markets where a booth is beside the point and a pre-booked calendar is everything.

Both kinds fail the same way. A team scans several hundred badges, the file arrives the following week as a spreadsheet of names and titles, and by the time anyone works out which of them are real buyers the conversation has gone cold. The scanning is not the problem. The gap between the scan and a complete, CRM-ready record is.
