# Bulk update profiles

> Edit one profile field for every user on a template at once, by hand or with a CSV

> [!NOTE]
>
> Available on the **Teams** and **Enterprise** plans. You need to be a team manager, admin, or owner to edit templates.

Templates set shared values for everyone. Some fields still differ from person to person, such as job titles or direct phone numbers. **Update Profiles** lets you fill those in for every user in one place instead of opening each profile.

## Supported fields

The **Unique ...** button appears next to fields that can hold a different value per user:

* **About**: **Job title**, **Company**, **Location**, **Calendly**, and the contact details (emails and phone numbers)
* **Content** blocks such as **Websites**, **Socials**, **Files**, and **Team Members**
* **Email Signature**: **First name**, **Last name**, **Job Title**, **Company**, **Banner Link**, and the signature photo
* **Wallet**: the advanced wallet design fields

## Updating profiles

**1. Open the field on the template**

Open the template, find the field, and click **Unique ...** (for example **Unique Job title**). A table lists every user on the template with their current value.

**2. Download the CSV**

Click **Download CSV file**. The file has one row per user with an `id`, their first name, last name, and the field value.

**3. Edit and import**

Fill in the column in a spreadsheet, save it as CSV, and click **Import CSV file**. The table updates with the imported values so you can review them. You can also type directly into the table.

**4. Save**

Click **Update Profiles**. Only rows you changed are saved. **Remove All** clears every user's value so they fall back to the template default.

> [!TIP]
>
> Do not edit the `id` column. It matches each row to a user when you import the file. The name columns are there to help you find people.

## Keep individual edits vs. overwrite all users

When you change a template value and some users already customized that field themselves, Wave Connect asks how to publish:

| Option | What happens | Use it when |
| :- | :- | :- |
| **Keep Individual Edits** | Users who edited the field keep their own value. Everyone else gets the new template value. | You are refreshing a default and trust the edits people made. |
| **Overwrite All Users** | Every user gets the new template value, including those who edited it. | You are enforcing a brand change or fixing a wrong value everywhere. |

Users whose value matches the old template value are always updated, since they never customized it.

> [!NOTE]
>
> For content blocks, link values are not affected by this choice. The prompt only applies to the block title and order. Use **Unique ...** on the block to change individual links.
