# NFC

> Share your business card by tapping your NFC product against a phone

NFC (Near Field Communication) lets you share your Wave profile with a single tap. Hold your Wave NFC card or accessory near someone's phone and your profile opens instantly.

## How to Share via NFC

    Take your Wave NFC card, phone tap card, or other NFC accessory and have it ready to share.

  <Step title="Tap the recipient's phone">
    Hold the NFC product against the back of the recipient's smartphone, near the top.

  <Step title="Profile opens">
    A notification appears on their phone. Tapping it opens your Wave profile in their browser.

* The NFC won't work with the camera app on iPhone

Wave supports NFC as one of the primary sharing methods alongside QR and links.

## Tips for a Successful Tap

* Hold the card still for 1-2 seconds against the phone
* Position the card near the top-center of the phone (where the NFC reader typically is)
* Remove thick phone cases if the tap isn't registering
* Make sure the recipient's phone has NFC enabled (Android may require this in settings)

## Compatibility

<Tip>
  **Android users:** NFC must be enabled in Settings before tapping. On iPhone XS and later, NFC is always on, just tap the top of the phone to the Wave card. If a device isn't listed, check your phone's spec sheet for NFC support.

  If the recipient's phone doesn't support NFC, you can always fall back to sharing via QR code. Your QR code is available in the Wave app at any time.
