# Workday

> Create and remove Wave Connect users automatically from your Workday workers

> [!NOTE]
>
> Available on the **Enterprise** plan. This is an organization-level integration, connected by the organization **Owner**. HR integrations are enabled on request: contact Wave Connect to turn it on for your organization.

The Workday integration creates a Wave Connect user for every active worker in Workday and keeps them up to date. When workers join, change roles, or leave, Wave Connect reflects it automatically, so your admins never add or remove accounts by hand. Wave Connect reads workers from Workday HCM.

## How to connect

**1. Ask Wave Connect to enable HR integrations**

Go to **Integrations → Workday**. Until HR integrations are enabled for your organization, the button reads **Contact Us**. Click it to send the request to Wave Connect support.

**2. Install the app**

Once enabled, click **Install App**. Leave **Automatically import new users from Workday** on to keep the directory in sync, then click **Continue**.

**3. Sign in to Workday**

A secure Merge Link window opens. Sign in with your Workday credentials and authorize read access to your workers.

**4. Wait for the first import**

Wave Connect imports all active workers right after connecting. Each one becomes a Wave Connect user in your organization.

> [!NOTE]
>
> This integration can add seats automatically as new workers are imported, which can lead to additional charges.

## What gets synced

| Workday field | Wave Connect user field |
| - | - |
| First name, last name | Name |
| Work email | Email (used to sign in) and work email |
| Personal email | Personal email |
| Mobile phone | Mobile phone (only when the number is valid) |
| Job title (current employment) | Job title |
| Work location city | City |
| Profile photo | Profile photo |
| Workday worker ID | Stored on the user to match future updates |

**Sync direction**: Workday → Wave Connect (inbound only)

**When**: A full import when you connect, then worker added, changed, and removed events as Workday reports them through Merge.

## Features

* **Automatic onboarding**: new workers get a Wave Connect account with their name, title, photo, and contact details already filled in.
* **Automatic offboarding**: when a worker is removed in Workday, or their termination date passes, their Wave Connect user is deleted. This frees their card and removes their profile and contacts.
* **Duplicate-safe matching**: workers are matched to existing Wave Connect users by their Workday worker ID first, then by work email, so people who already had an account are updated rather than duplicated.

## Limitations & requirements

* Only workers with a first name, last name, and work email in Workday are imported. Anyone missing one of these fields is skipped.
* Workers whose termination date has already passed are not imported.
* Work phone numbers are not imported.
* Imported users are created with the **User** role. Assign teams and admin roles in Wave Connect.
* This is an organization-level integration. Individual team members do not connect separately.

## Disconnecting

Go to **Integrations → Installed Integrations**, open **Workday**, and click **Disconnect**. This stops syncing, removes the connection in Merge, and deletes the integration. Existing Wave Connect users are not deleted.
